After your course
What next?
If you are successful in gaining your qualification, you are now ready to look for a job.
Teaching skiing and snowboarding is a very rewarding profession.
You get to share your passion for the sport, live in the mountains, travel to new countries, meet people from all over the world, and of course ski and ride everyday... and get paid for it!
With the NZSIA / SBINZ qualification you will be able to gain employment in USA, Canada and some areas of Europe. And, if you want the endless winter, New Zealand and Australia have some great work opportunities also.
Pay rates differ from resort to resort. This depends on the cost of living in any given resort and the demographic of customers in the resort.
Depending on your nationality you may need a work visa. Some resorts will help you with this process, but you need to contact them early.
At Cardrona we have instructors from all over the world, they are a great resource for you to gather information and find the resort that is right for you.
They often have good contacts at their home resorts and may be able to help find you a position.
It’s never too early to start looking for a job, especially if you want to work in the northern hemisphere after you finish your training course!
Check out the Job noticeboard page for current job opportunities.
