Ski Race Coaching Options

FIS & J

FIS & J Full time

What is it? A complete and intensive race coaching option for performance focused athletes.

Who for? FIS and J level athletes born in 1995 or earlier.  In 2010 all FIS & J  racers will register into this coaching option. Once on snow groups will be formed according to ability level, racing experience and age.

The commitment: 5 sessions* per week (Wed - Sun)

Start date: 3rd July 2010
End date: 3rd October 2010

Price: NZ$7340

Price includes:

  • On snow training - freeskiing and gate training
  • Transport to HPC training venues**
  • Physical conditioning
  • Gym membership
  • Uniform (if athlete already has the current uniform this will be deducted from the course price)


Extras:

  • Season pass - we exclude this so that you have the opportunity to pick up an early bird price and save some $
  • Airport transfers
  • Event entry, travel and lift passes at other mountains
  • Homestay

Eligibility:
All athletes must currently belong to a ski club, hold a current ski racing New Zealand licence and be FIS registered.

Equipment requirements:

  • Slalom and Giant Slalom skis (FIS Homologated)
  • Helmet - compulsory for all training and racing
  • Slalom protection
  • Physical training clothes and running shoes

 

FIS & J Part time

What is it? This coaching option is identical to the fulltime option in terms of resources and benefits but instead is based on three sessions a week.

Who for? FIS level and J level athletes born in 1995 or earlier that can only commit to three sessions per week.  This is especially designed for FIS athletes who want to train at this level but also want to stay at school or work part time.

The commitment: Three sessions per week*

What is it? This coaching option is for E level kids who want comprehensive training over three days per week.

Who for? Those that can commit to three sessions per week and are,
E Level athletes in the following age groups:

The commitment: 3 sessions* per week (Fri - Sun)

Sunday Sessions

Sunday Sessions - New for 2010!!!

What is it? All round ski development coaching, designed to introduce skiers to all areas of skiing, including race and freeski training, working on pipe, park and big mountain skills alongside gate training techniques.

Who for? Young Advanced skiers who to learn skills in all disciplines and not specialise just yet.

The commitment: 1 session* per week (Sun)

Start date: 4th July 2010
End date: end of Junior Nationals (1st October 2010, depending on contingency days)

The Price: NZ$785

Price includes:

  • On snow training
  • Junior Nationals event support


Extras:

  • Season pass


Equipment requirements:

  • Good skis, and some older ones for rails, twin tips not compulsory at this stage although recommended
  • Helmet - compulsory for all training and competing
  • Physical training clothes and running shoes
  • NO UNIFORM REQUIRED for Sunday Sessions

Camps

Ski Race Camps

HPC Ski Race Camps offer kids who are unable to train for the whole season the chance to train in week-long blocks during the July School holidays. Camps run from Monday - Friday in each of the three weeks of the New Zealand holidays.

Date options: 5 - 9 July, 12 - 16 July, 19 - 23 July

Price: NZ$550

There will be at least two camp groups, with one being focused on introductory racing skills and the other offering training for intermediate to advanced racers.

HPC Camps are for school age kids with a minimum ability level of skiing parallel over the whole mountain. If you are not quite at this level yet, check out www.cardrona.com for other week-long programmes.
