Lift, Lesson and Rental Packages
There are two packages available, both of which include lift tickets, lesson & rental equipment.
The difference is a First-timer package is limited by lift pass on the first-day, which restricts the skiers to the learner’s area. The objective here is to supply everything needed to build a foundation for progress.
An Achievement package provides unlimited access to the entire mountain and suits a relative novice right through to an experienced skier or boarder. The objectives here are to supply all the necessary elements in order to accelerate the learning curve.
If you do not want a lesson, you can still take advantage of a package price on lift passes and rentals.

Which package?
A first timer package includes a learner area pass on day one. This accesses the Learners slope and its Platter and Magic Learner lifts and therefore suitable to those who have never skied or snowboarded before.
The terrain step up to the MacDougalls chairlift is small as this slope is wide and gentle. If you have skied or boarded for more than one day then access to the entire mountain (ie. an Achievement Package) is the best choice for most people from day one.
Have you ever skied or boarded before?
- No - Then the First-time package is the one for you.
- Yes - You'll want an achievement package
More on First-timer versus Achievement package selection.
Skiing is like riding a bike. You do remember quickly the movements even if it was once many years ago, so just because it's been a while doesn't mean that you will be an absolute beginner.
Bear in mind that if you can “stop and change direction” then you are far more advanced than someone who has never skied or boarded before.
Note you can upgrade your First-time Learner area pass to an all mountain lift pass after 12.30pm for a fee. Remember First timers package only includes a lift pass for the Learners slopes.
