Registration for the Cardrona Grom Prix - Snow Sports NZ Freeski and Snowboard Junior National Championships will now close on Monday 19th September 12:00pm. No entries will be accepted past midday on Monday.

Snow Sports NZ made the change in entry closure to ensure that they have enough time to effectively organise the event for the size of some of the disciplines.

All riders and skiers need to be Snow Sports NZ members to be eligible for registration in the Junior Nationals. To become a member, click here.

For the first time, registration is being facilitated through a new online system.  “We are still working through the logistics and apologise for the difficulty some have encountered while registering,” said Snow Sports NZ’s Adam Dooney.

“Moving forward we will take what we have learned from this event making every effort to streamline the system for next year’s events.”

“Many of you would have noticed there has been a change to the Grommet/Youth age category,” said Dooney.  “This was necessary due to the size of the Youth category and also to decrease the age gap between the youngest and oldest in Youth.”

The slopestyle courses for this year will be divided up with the Grommets on the Western Gap Park (McDougall’s), Youth will be decided closer to the event depending on snow availability, Juniors and Rookies will compete in the Heavy Metal Park.

Big Mountain/Freeride (snow dependent) will be held in upper Arcadia, start gate on the skier’s left highest peak.

Volunteers including parents with intermediate to advanced ski or snowboard skills are required as marshals and other event roles during the week. Prior training will be given and a volunteer lift pass on the days working. Please contact events@cardrona.com for more information.

Bib collection will be held on Sunday 25th September up at the Cardrona ticket office from 9:00am, and down at the Cardrona town office from 6:30pm.

Please either email your waiver forms to heather@snowsports.co.nz or hand them in at bib collection.

All competitors will need to have completed their waivers before collecting bibs.
