Spring Parks Update
Tuesday, 13 September 2011 13:15
Hey everyone sorry for the big time gap between updates but the crew have been super busy with events and re builds.
The Burton Open was a massive success with people saying it was the best slopestyle course seen in NZ… ever! So big props to all the park crew, grooming boys and anyone who helped make the event a banger as there were some mammoth hours being put in to get it all going.
The Winter Games has been and gone to with some amazing big air and pipe runs being thrown down. Big props to Alli, Hamish and Kevin for having the pipe, big air and parks looking epic.
Now for the parks updates.. the Playzone had a total rebuild a few weeks ago with every single feature being pulled and the podiums being re-shaped to ensure they look as good as possible for as long as possible. So a few change ups were done and there will be a few more very soon.
The Heavy Metal has been left post Burton Open at the exact same course so it has been all time watching people killing it on that line. The jumps are right up there as some of the best jumps we have seen at Cardrona so don’t miss out before they shrink with the warm weather.
The triple line was measured the other day at 45ft, 51ft, and 68ft in that order so the jumps have definitely lost some length. Now over the last couple of weeks we have put 2 new jumps in the lower heavy metal park and 3 jibs so come and check out the new UP box, C-box and plastic tube set up, as well as the 2 new jumps at 40ft and 28ft.

The playzone has had a couple new features put in and changed around so the crew are trying to keep things fresh in there. Go to the Cardrona Parks facebook page and become a fan to keep up to date with what new stuff has gone out or been changed around.

The Big Air has been re shaped and is now a solid 90ft, so this thing is huge. Don’t miss the video of 3CS park crew member Heath testing it on facebook. Classic.
The Olympic pipe has been kept in amazing condition over the last few weeks thanks to everyones hard work, so don’t forget to ride that stunt ditch EARLY as when it is soft it will close at 11am.
Don’t forget to keep updated with Cardrona Parks info through our Facebook and Twitter accounts, as well as the cardronaparks.com website.
Thanks everyone.
Peace
-Mr. T
