Cardrona What's On: Carol's Food Truck

It's been a wholesome week up at Cardrona, topped off with some fresh snow. So what's happened and coming up?

The snow delivered last night at Cardrona and Treble Cone, and we got a great layer across both mountains. The groomed runs are running really well! Over the next few days, keep your eyes peeled for potential announcements of new terrain opening.

Our snow report tells us Cardona is looking quieter at the weekend with more day and multi-day passes available, so now's a great time to head up and get some turns in amongst the fresh snow.

Food and Beverage opened their newest venture yesterday, Carol's food truck! Named after the longstanding member of our whānau and local: Carol Little (if you've visited Cardrona before you probably know her - iconic hair, full of love and energy, sound familiar?) We got to surprise the legend herself by unveiling the truck, and this picture pretty much sums up the awesome experience.

Carol and Maggie Little

You'll find Carol's in the Cardrona Courtyard. Swing by and you’ll be served up delicious Pure NZ fruit ice cream and fresh pies, all with a side of outstanding energy, and heaps of fun.

The crew at Cardrona Corner, our mountain retail store, are hosting a free demo for Step On Bindings and Boots! If you’re on the fence about upgrading your gear and keen to give the latest snowboard technology a go, visit the retail shop. You'll find Cardrona Corner across from Base Bar.

Weather Forecast

There was a good layer of snow dropped onto the slopes last night, and today's looking cold with some more sprinkles throughout the morning. Expect temps to be between -3 and -4, with the weekend bringing milder conditions of temps around 0 degrees. There could well be a couple of bluebird days on Friday or Saturday, so it's a great time to load up sunscreen and take some fresh turns.

Treble Cone

For the first time in (recent) history, The Saddle is open for ungroomed skiing and riding adventures! We love seeing our guests enjoy classic advanced terrain and conditions out there. The ops team are hopeful that with more snow, colder temps, and more work, there'll be more terrain open soon.

With a good layer of snow, and more on the way, if you're looking to come over the hill to visit TC, take some turns and check out one of the best views in New Zealand, consider taking the bus. The drive from Queenstown to Treble Cone is amazing, and the views out the window could well be one of the highlights of your day. Let us take the wheel, check out our bus transport options here.
