Cardrona What's On: Covid-19 Level 2
This week we've all had to make some changes as we move into Alert Level 2 operations at Cardrona and Treble Cone.
We want to kick off this week's "What's On" by thanking you for your patience and support over the last few days as we implemented our Level 2 plan.
Since the PM's announcement this evening, we will be continuing with Level 2 operations, and you can read more about what that means on our Level 2 update page.
To our Auckland guests who are impacted by the Level 3 travel restrictions – we want to send you all our love, support and sincere gratitude for all you are doing for New Zealand. If you need to get in touch with us about your visit, you can do so by emailing our team on email@example.com
Hobbits and Hobblets will be on this Sunday, and we're excited for another week of our local kids' programmes!
Please join our Cardrona Snow Reports Facebook group or follow our Twitter account so you can keep up to date on what the snow and weather conditions are like each day, how our facilities are running, and what's happening with our on-mountain events.
Snow-Forecast.com are predicting a fairly settled weekend, with some scrappy weather from Tuesday evening onwards... hopefully bringing some snow!.
If you're in the backcountry this week, don't forget to record what you observe through the NZ Mountain Safety Council's Avalanche Advisory page.

This weekend the North Face Cardrona Parks crew are building the lower Antlers Alley terrain park rail features. These will be used for the next Winter Games NZ Obsidian event - the Park Jam.
The next event for up here at Cardrona is the (mentioned above) Winter Games NZ Obsidian Park Jam! Obsidian has 21 of New Zealand's best athletes split into 3 teams, and they're scored across 5 events - Big Air, Park Jam, Freeride, Mountain Shred, and a film edit event.
At this stage, it looks like the Park Jam will be held on Monday, which is looking like a gorgeous day. We and the Winter Games NZ team will keep you updated on our social media channels when it's confirmed, and we hope to see you up here!
The Big Air was held while we were getting ready for Level 2 on Wednesday, so the 21 athletes had the mountain to themselves as they sessioned the last jump on the Big Bucks jump line. Cardrona Team Athletes Margaux Hackett, Carlos Garcia Knight and Nico Porteous, all representing Team Wells, took the wins in their respective categories.

The middle of next week's scrappy weather could bode well for TC, with a good amount of snow in the long range forecast. On Sunday, Treble Cone are hosting the Jones Snowboards Treble Cone Banked Slalom - due to Level 2 regulations, you must be pre-registered to compete in this event.
For all daily updates, join the Treble Cone Facebook Snow Reports group.
To help share the froth, here's a video of Ben Hume shot by Fraser McDougall a couple of weeks ago up at Treble Cone:
