Cardrona What's On: So good, we're keeping going!
The mountain is looking amazing at the moment, so we're going to stay open for another week!
Our big news of the week - our new Closing Day is October 24th! We're aiming to have at least McDougall's and the Learner Conveyor open for that last week, with any additional lifts dependent on snow.
Here's a wee drone overview shot on Monday which shows how awesome the mountain is looking at the moment:
Here's a quick reminder of the Level 2 guidelines for both Cardrona and Treble Cone (you can read them all here):
- You must wear a face covering over your mouth and nose in our indoor spaces (except for when eating/drinking in our F&B outlets), in lift lines, on lifts, and in our transport.
- Make sure you scan in or sign in wherever you're asked to.
- Our indoor spaces are limited to 100 people, so please bear with our teams and be patient as they monitor numbers.
- Use your car as your base lodge if you can!
This weekend is looking fairly settled, ahead of some bitsy weather next week with some greybird days (after this week's long string of bluebirds!). Keep an eye on the Snow Report for the most up-to-date information on what is open over the next week.
The forecast for the next three days from Snow-Forecast.com looks like this:
|clear||clear||clear||clear||some clouds||some clouds||cloudy||cloudy||cloudy|
|Feels like (°C)||1||4||3||5||7||5||5||8||5|
Treble Cone's official Closing Day is this Sunday! The team have put together a delicious champagne breakfast, which you can book into online here. Get your dress ups ready, because it's going to be a fun one. After last weekend's snow storm, there's still plenty of snow up there.
This was shot last Sunday with Tom Caulton, another all-time TC day:
Tomorrow (Saturday) is the Cardrona Junior Interfields ski race, which is followed by the Torpedo7 SSNZ Junior Freestyle Nationals all week next week. A huge "good luck" to all our junior competitors for their last big events of the season... we can't wait to see how you all go and how much fun you have out there!
The International Halfpipe is now open! That means minipipe laps are on... all day, every day! Now seems like a great time to give a massive shout out to the North Face Cardrona Parks Crew for getting everything open and keeping it all fresh this season - you've done an amazing job for all our dedicated park riders!
Our "Fix It" event has been postponed till October 20th - watch this space for more info! We've also had a couple of great sessions with our team - they're learning how to build traps for predators, and have been finding out more about composting and planting as part of our "Plant a Seed" replanting programme. There are going to be plenty of opportunities to get involved with these projects if you're keen, so keep an eye on our social media and newsletters for more sustainability events.
