About the event:
The Speight's Peak to Pub is a 1300 vertical metre single track descent from the Cardrona summit, down more than 10km of continuous single-track, finishing at the historic Cardrona Hotel. Racers will take between 15 and 30 minutes to complete the course which is a mix of technical and flow bike park trails, 4x4 farm tracks and Otago high-country single track trails.
The Peak to Pub starts from the Cardrona Summit accessed from the McDougall's Chondola. Racers descend to the top of Captain's chairlift then down to the Whitestar chairlift before following Ridge Rider, Crankshaft, Mag Ridge, Persecution Gully, John's Road then Sharktooth Alley and Green Gully finishing on Hwy onto Crankshaft and then onto the famous Peak to Pub route, finishing 1200 metres below at the historic Cardrona Hotel.
There are 3 entry divisions for Open, Masters and Junior age (U17) racers. Everyone must complete a seeding time trial on Ridge Rider to determine the starting order for the race. Riders will start at 1-minute intervals with the fastest seeded rider starting first. The finish is at the end of the Peak to Pub trail and the awards presentation is at the Cardrona Hotel.
