Visiting Pro Athletes

World-class facilities attract world-class pro athletes – meet our mates visiting from overseas & check out what they’ve been up to at Cardrona!

Each winter at Cardrona our facilities, events & training camps attract X Games & Olympic professional skiers & snowboarders. We love welcoming our friends from overseas & supporting them in events like the Audi quattro Winter Games NZ & the Jossi Wells Invitational. It’s also very exciting to see them stomp new tricks in our annual Cardrona Spring Camp after the mountain closes each year.

James "Woodsy" Woods

Woodsy is definitely a Cardrona favourite, & an honorary Kiwi. This high-flying British freeskier makes Cardrona his home each Southern Hemisphere winter & we love watching him progress each season! He’s an X Games medallist & won the inaugural Jossi Wells Invitational at Cardrona in 2016. Check out his Facebook & Instagram.

Kelly Sildaru

Kelly Sildaru is blowing up the women’s freeski scene! The Estonian skier was the youngest Winter X Games Gold medallist ever at age 13, & has made her way (with younger brother Henry) down to Cardrona for the past 3 winter seasons. You can find Kelly on Facebook & Instagram– check out her edit with Cardrona team skier Nico Porteous from the 2013 winter!

Louie Vito

A true legend of snowboarding, the American native from Ohio has been coming to Cardrona for so many years we've given up counting! The X Games, Dew Tour, Burton Open & US Grand Prix Gold Medallist is right at home in Cardrona's Olympic Superpipe & is a regular face at our end of season elite Spring Camp. One of the nicest superstars you'll ever meet, don't be shy to ask for a photo with Louie or just check him out on Instagram or Facebook
