Pipelines Ski Report August 25, 2017

The last Pipelines Ski Report for August is all about the Audi quattro Winter Games NZ!

We're kicking off our first FIS World Cup as part of the Audi quattro Winter Games NZ tomorrow with Ski Slopestyle Qualifiers. Sunday's the day for finals, but with all the world's best skiers here for this event, you'll want to be up here both days to check out all the action.

One of the coolest things about this week has been seeing all our littlest skiers rubbing shoulders with X Games & Olympic athletes in lift lines – the atmosphere up at Cardrona right now is really something you've gotta come up & see for yourself!

The weather for the next couple of days is looking a little bit scrappy – could be a mix of everything coming in & out including (hopefully) a wee bit of snow! The temperature looks to be dropping early next week with more cold, white, fluffy stuff predicted by the team at for the middle of the week.

The folks at Almond Breeze are giving out free samples at Base & around on the mountain – keep an eye out for their blue jackets to grab some yuuuummy hot chocolate! If you like what you try, you can order anything with Almond Breeze at any of our coffee spots.

At the top of Whitestar, the Corona Bar is the perfect viewing platform for the Slopestyle events! The team up there have got great deals on Coronas, as well as food & toilets, so it's really the place to be. The easiest way to get to it is from the top of the McDougall's Chondola, & take an easy stroll, ski or board down.
