At the time of writing this week's Pipelines Ski Report, we've had 35cm of fresh snow in the last 20 hours...
Another cheeky storm has topped up the snow conditions nicely – it's looking pretty amazing up here & we're pretty excited to get some freshies this weekend! It's the last chance before the kids go back to school to get them skiing/riding fresh snow... or you could wait for them to go back on Monday & come up for some sneaky laps by yourself...
We also just want to put a big THANK YOU out to everyone for their patience with the power outage today – we're so stoked we got as much of the mountain open today as we did, & all your excitement & support was really appreciated.
Hobbits & Hobblets start tomorrow & our Local Schools programmes all start this week. It's going to be great to see all our youngest snow fans back on the mountain!
Mountainwatch are forecasting a week of snow showers followed by clear days, so it could be a week for the books! The mountain is looking great so these top-ups are really making for fantastic snow conditions...
We had two youth events on the mountain in the last week & they were fantastic! Check out the recaps for Pīki Maunga Rangatahi (Big Mountain Youth) & Park Attack Slopestyle #1 on our Facebook page. Park Attack Slopestyle #2 was scheduled for yesterday in Antlers Alley, but has been postponed till August 20 because of the storm that hit. Entries are open now, sign up online!
This coming week we're hosting the Mount Aspiring College Champs on Wednesday, & the Dynastar Ski Masters from Thursday through to Saturday. It's a week of race competition & we can't wait to see it all go down!
All the Parks are up & running now! The team are currently pushing the Olympic Superpipe – watch this space for more info on an opening day for the Wells Pipe Platter.
The first weekly Parks Jam is tomorrow! Keep an eye out for the Parks flags in lower Antlers Alley, hit the feature & win free stuff if you impress! The boys will be out from midday till around 1.30pm.
Things to check out
Have you checked out The Lounge yet? it's a sophisticated slopeside aprés bar, & it is quickly becoming the spot to be on the mountain! You'll find it next to Base Café on the left hand side of the Archway, or just beside the Lessons Meeting Area on the snow side. There are so many things to love about The Lounge, so here are our favourites:
- Full Real Journeys blind-tasted wine list & craft beer
- The most comfortable furniture on the mountain
- Upstairs mezzanine which is the ultimate spot to send a quick email
- Slopeside deck with window to order your beverages from!
This weekend is going to kick off a pretty awesome week at Cardrona. Dust off your pow skis & get up here – there's still goods to be found & could be more this week!!
