Pipelines Ski Report September 15, 2017

This week's Pipelines Ski Report we're celebrating the Monster Energy Jossi Wells Invitational!

We've been on weather watch all week, & the team made the call to push the Monster Energy Jossi Wells Invitational back to tomorrow (Saturday) – that's good news for all you weekend warriors... means you can check out all the action up here!

It has been a pretty turbulent week up on the mountain, with 73cm of snow in the last storm & the windiest day so far this season today – some of the wind gusts got up over 100km/hr! We could have a wee bit of snow coming through from Sunday so look out for another Spring top-up...

Weather

The team at Snow-Forecast are predicting a clearing tomorrow for the Invitational, then another front coming through with some more snow! This Spring sure feels a lot like winter...

The storm is looking like it'll clear on Monday with a sunny day Tuesday – anyone up for some Spring pow turns?!

Events

This weekend is a MASSIVE one for our GoldX Events crew! Not only do they have the Monster Energy Jossi Wells Invitational tomorrow, they're also hosting high school students from all over the region for the Otago Southland Secondary Schools Champs all weekend. So if you see an "Events Ninja" around the mountain this weekend, give them a high five – we've been told they're also big chocolate fans ;)

The schedule for tomorrow's Jossi Wells Invitational is shaping up to be;

9am          Jump open for practice
10am        Women's Final
11am          Men's Jam – top 6 skiers/boarders progress to finals
1pm           Men's Finals

*Schedule is weather dependent & subject to change

Check out spectator info here. If you can't make it up the mountain, you can watch the whole event live here!

Parks

The Cardrona Parks Crew need your help! The boys have been working their tooshies off this whole season to build amazing courses for events like the Jossi Wells Invitational & the Audi quattro Winter Games NZ – now's our chance to say a massive thank you to them!

They're entered in the NZ Park Crew battle by our friends over at @newzealandsnowboarding on Instagram. You can help the boys take out the crown by heading to the New Zealand Snowboarding Instagram page & liking/commenting on the Cardrona Parks photos & edit.

We're so proud of all they've done this season – they've got our vote!

Things to look out for

We've got a few pairs of Jossi Wells' signature Dragon Alliance NFX2 goggles to give away this weekend – you can't even get these bad boys in the Southern Hemisphere yet! Keep an eye on our Instagram, Facebook, the event live stream or be on the mountain tomorrow to find out how to win...
