We are all guns blazing in this week’s ski report! Following a couple of small top ups from Mother Nature, the MVP award for Week 3 goes to our amazing snowmaking & grooming teams!
Our main trails are riding fantastically, & we’re opening up new trails regularly thanks to some serious firepower from our guns.
Last weekend we had 65 adaptive volunteers training to help people with disabilities learn to ski or snowboard. If you see them around with our instructors & our adaptive guests, give them a big high 5 - they're giving up their time to do something pretty special in our mountain community! This week also saw the start of our HPC training - keep an eye out for the young rippers charging around the mountain in our freestyle & race coaching programmes!
We've got some pretty exciting things happening over the month of July so keep an eye on these ski reports or sign up to our email newsletter at the bottom of our home page to keep up to date with everything going on up at Cardrona!
The forecast for this weekend & early next week is looking promising – with possible snow on the horizon from Sunday through to Wednesday! Keep those fingers crossed for some love from Mother Nature to deliver some icing on the cake!
July school holidays are almost upon us! We know bringing the kids on a ski holiday can often be a bit of a mission, so check out this blog from our mates over at Torpedo7 about 5 things to make it a lot less stressful at Cardrona!
Our top tip for these school holidays is to get everything sorted before you head up the mountain! Our ticket offices in both Wanaka & Queenstown can organise lift passes, rentals, lessons & anything else you & your family may need for a day on the slopes so you can head straight to the lifts when you arrive!
Keep an eye out on next week's ski report for some more school holiday tips!
On July 20 we’re hosting our annual Cardrona Kids’ Cup, a ski & snowboard slopestyle competition for kids of all abilities, aged 5-11yrs. The action will kick off in Lil’ Bucks terrain park from 10.30am & there's heaps of prizes up for grabs from the legends at Dragon, Rossignol & Calci Yum. If your little ripper is keen to participate you can pre-register at any of our ticket offices or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. It's always HEAPS of fun with plenty of Calci Yum to go round & no matter what level or ability, all groms are welcome!
We’re still on the hunt for volunteers for this season’s top-tier freestyle & race events. There is a volunteer training clinic being held at the Snow Sports NZ office in Wanaka on Wednesday July 6 from 5.30-7.30pm. If being right in the thick of it as some of the world’s best skiers & snowboarders show how it’s done sounds like you, email email@example.com to find out more info!
We’ve got an exciting month coming up for July, so keep doing those snow dances & we’ll see you up at Cardrona these school holidays!
