The Southern Hemisphere winter season usually runs from June to October each year, with many athletes making the trip to Queenstown, Wanaka and Cardrona to experience all our epic region has to offer. Up here at Cardrona, we have world-class facilities including homologated ski race courses, a gravity-x course, and the Southern Hemisphere's most extensive freestyle facilities which include a World Cup slopestyle course, an Olympic halfpipe, and a big air jump with landing bag.
At Cardrona we strive to provide a wide variety of world-class facilities to help athletes succeed in many different snow sports disciplines. We work closely with athletes and Snow Sports NZ to make sure we're achieving this. If you have any feedback or suggestions in terms of facilities, please get in touch here.
We also host a range of events throughout the New Zealand winter season to cater for all levels, ages & disciplines of skiing & snowboarding. Many athletes see events like the Winter Games NZ as great preparation for the Northern Hemisphere competition season. We want you to love competing down in our little corner of the world!
