The Spy Optics FIS NZ Freestyle Open is for ski & snowboard Halfpipe & Slopestyle competitors who want to earn FIS points & qualify for FIS World Cup events & the Winter Olympics. Slopestyle qualifiers will be held on Tuesday August 14, followed by finals on August 15 in Big Bucks Park. The Halfpipe competition will be held in our 22ft Olympic Superpipe on Thursday August 16. Friday August 17 will be the weather postponement day. In the lead-up to the 2018 World Jr. Championships, you can guarantee all of the top contenders will be entered & aiming to perform their best in a show not to be missed.
This event is part of the World Rookie Tour, the largest running junior freestyle snowboard tour in the world. The NZ Rookie Fest is part of the lead up towards the FIS Junior World Championships this August, & we are excited to host some of the world's best snowboarders here in NZ!
