Terms & Conditions

General Terms & Conditions

Definitions:

In these Terms & Conditions the following words have the following meaning:

“Cardrona” means Cardrona Alpine Resort Ltd.

Cardrona is a New Zealand owned company.  The name that will appear on your receipt will be Cardrona Alpine Resort.

The period of operation for Cardrona winter season is nominally June 10 – October 15, 2017.  The period of operation for Cardrona summer season is nominally December 27, 2016 – April 2, 2017. The duration of the seasons will be subject to snow; weather & market conditions & may vary from the above dates as a result. Cardrona offers no warranty in respect of the season opening, duration of the season, operating days &/or the number of lifts & facilities operating on any day or time.

All prices quoted on this website are in New Zealand dollars & are valid at the time of printing but subject to change without notice. Rates include GST.

Pass means Electronic RFID pass & the products associated with it.

Purchasers of a Cardrona pass will be deemed to have accepted the following Terms & Conditions: 

Lift

  1. Carry your pass at all times.  If a pass holder has forgotten their pass, a replacement card can be issued at the mountain Ticket Office. This pass now replaces the forgotten pass, which will become deactivated from that day forward.
  2. A lost or stolen pass must be reported to Cardrona immediately. A replacement pass may be issued at the discretion of Cardrona.
  3. A $10 fee may be charged for a replacement pass. This is at the discretion of Cardrona.
  4. Passes remain the property of Cardrona.
  5. Passes are non-transferable. It may only be used by the person whose name & photograph are assigned to the pass. Fraudulent use of your pass will result in confiscation of the pass & prosecution of all parties involved.
  6. Your pass cannot be used for commercial purposes without the consent of Cardrona.
  7. The pass holder uses the resort at his/her own risk.
  8. The pass holder assumes all risk of personal injury & property loss or damage.
  9. The pass holder agrees to the rules, regulations & directions as expressed or implied by Cardrona. All pass holders at Cardrona must abide by the snow user’s responsibility code.  This can be viewed at: https://www.cardrona.com/winter/mountain/medical-facilities-safety/ski-patrol-slope-safety/
  10. Misconduct will result in withdrawal or suspension of pass privileges. Misconduct also covers unsocial behaviour & terms expressed or implied at the resort.
  11. Any breach of the Terms & Conditions relating to the use of the pass by the user may result in the withdrawal of the pass & all associated privileges.
  12. Any person who uses or attempts to use the facilities at Cardrona without a valid & lawful pass & without reasonable excuse will be subject to:
    Prosecution &/or
    b. Requirement to purchase a valid lift pass for that day &/or
    c. A penalty of $150 &/or a trespass notice preventing further access to the resort & all other ski areas in the Southern Lakes region for a period of 2 years.
  13. Cardrona passes are non-refundable. However, refunds will be considered on medical grounds only, when supported by a doctor’s certificate. Refund applications must be in writing with supporting documentation & sent to ticketing@cardrona.com. The basis of any refund will be determined by the usage of the pass & is at the absolute discretion of Cardrona.  Cardrona reserves the right to apply any processing charges for refund applications.
  14. A blackout period applies to Saver season passes from Monday July 3 – Friday July 21 inclusive. Pass holders of Saver season passes will be unable to use the resort’s lifts during this period.
  15. Cardrona has both peak & off-peak day passes, peak rates apply in July & August, off peak in June, September & October. Off peak day passes can be upgraded for use in July & August by paying the difference.

Terms & conditions relating to all users of Flexi passes.

  1. “Treble Cone” means Treble Cone Investments Ltd.
  2. Flexi passes are personal to the named card holder & are non-transferable, non-refundable & not redeemable for cash.
  3. Products purchased on the Flexi passes are valid only for the winter season in which they were purchased & will expire at the end of each winter season.
  4. Cardrona & Treble Cone accept no responsibility for passes that are lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed. If you lose or misplace your pass, please report this immediately by calling Treble Cone on +64 3 443 7443 or Cardrona on +64 3 443 7341 or by emailing info@cardrona.com or info@treblecone.com. Cards will be suspended or cancelled & a replacement issued. A fee may be charged to block / reissue card.
  5. Users agree to abide by the terms & conditions of each individual ski area.
  6. A Flexi Pass allows access to 1 ski area per day only. A second Flexi Pass day must be exchanged to access a second ski area on the same date.
  7. If a third party is found to be using your card without its loss being reported, Cardrona & Treble Cone reserve the right to decline to re-issue the card, refund any unused products or to issue you with another card in the future.
  8. Transferring or reselling cards is an offence & will result in penalties including loss of access to ski area facilities & possible prosecution.
  9. All refunds are at the discretion of Cardrona & Treble Cone (subject to any rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act). Any refunds requested on medical grounds must be supported by a medical certificate, & be sent to the company or agent you made the original purchase.
  10. Transaction history & card balances can be checked by logging on at www.cardrona.com or www.treblecone.com
  11. Passes cannot be used for commercial purposes without the permission of Cardrona or Treble Cone.
  12. Skiing, snowboarding & other snow sports are hazardous activities. Many hazards & obstacles (marked & unmarked, natural & man-made) exist within the resorts. You agree (to the extent permitted by law) that you use the resorts at your own risk & assume all risk of personal injury & property loss or damage.
  13. The season length is subject to snow, weather & market conditions & each ski area operates in a mountain environment where conditions are subject to rapid change. Cardrona & Treble Cone give no warranty as to the length of the season, operating hours, number of lifts operating at any time or to the operation or otherwise of a lift, run, area or facility on any given day at any of the ski areas. Each ski area reserves the right to close any lift, run, area or facility at any time for any reason. Lift passes will not be refunded due to weather or other operating contingencies affecting any lift, run, area or facility. All refunds & partial refunds are at the absolute discretion of Cardrona & Treble Cone.
  14. You agree to abide by all rules, regulations & directions set by each ski area & the Snow Responsibility Code displayed on the mountains. Misconduct will result in the withdrawal or suspension of the pass with no refund given. Misconduct includes, but is not limited to, disregard & breach of closed areas, excessive speeding in slow zones, reckless or dangerous skiing or riding, unsociable or aggressive behaviour or skiing or riding under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  15. Any breach of these terms, or other terms that apply to you, may result in the withdrawal of your pass & all associated privileges (without prejudice to any other remedies Cardrona or Treble Cone may have).
  16. Privacy – Cardrona & Treble Cone will not collect any personal information about you except when you knowingly provide it. Personal information will never be released to a third party without your consent. When you purchase a Flexi Pass, Cardrona & Treble Cone will transfer information about you & the Flexi Pass product that you’ve purchased with the other mountain in order to deliver the Flexi Pass dual mountain look-up & redemption functionality.
  17. Cardrona & Treble Cone may also be required by law to disclose information you provide. This information will only be disclosed if required by law.
  18. Cardrona & Treble Cone will use information provided by its visitors only to communicate with them. Any information automatically retrieved, will be used so that no individual visitors are identified. It is important to note that this website contains links to other sites not controlled by Cardrona or Treble Cone. Those sites may not follow the same privacy policy as Cardrona & Treble Cone.
  19. Cardrona & Treble Cone reserve the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time without notification to the user. It is recommended that the user review this website from time to time for changes.
  20. Early Bird Flexi Pass is valid for redemption at Cardrona Alpine Resort or Treble Cone Ski Area from 22nd July 2017 until the end of the winter season at the respective field.3 - Day Early Bird Flexi Pass must be used within 7 days of the first day of use & 6-day Early Bird Flexi Pass must be used within 14 days of the first day of use

Cardrona$

  1. Cardrona$ are redeemed on the basis that 1 Cardrona$ is equivalent to 1 NZ dollar.
  2. Cardrona$ can be used to purchase products or part-payment of a product for sale at Cardrona Alpine Resort only.
  3. Cardrona$ cannot be redeemed against a prior completed purchase.
  4. Cardrona$ can only be redeemed upon presentation of a valid pass loaded with a current Cardrona$ value (by the person named on the card)
  5. Cardrona$ can be redeemed by the named pass holder for the purchase of products for other pass holders. e.g. parent for a child.
  6. If there is a dispute about the balance remaining on a pass, this must be raised immediately by contacting Cardrona on +64 3 443 7341 or by emailing info@cardrona.com. No resolution will be available to the user to issues raised after the end of the season (winter or summer) in which the purchases are made.
  7. Cardrona$ are non-refundable & non-transferrable.
  8. Cardrona$ are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Stay

  1. All refund requests must be received in writing & acknowledged.
  2. All refunds are at the absolute discretion of Cardrona. 
  3. If a booking is cancelled or modified 30 days or more prior to the arrival date a minimum of $200 administration fee applies.
  4. Any cancellations within 30 days of arrival are non-refundable.
  5. If you have booked through a third party, please check with your travel agent/booking site for their individual Cancellation Policy.
  6. You are welcome to request specific rooms but in the case of unforeseen circumstances, such as room damages or maintenance issues, amendments may be made.
  7. Cardrona Apartments are still open & operational even when the lifts are closed & we therefore do not refund or amend accommodation based on Cardrona Alpine Resort or Cardrona Bike Park resort closure.
  8. Upon check in credit card details will be kept on file & charged for any damages or incidentals incurred during your stay.
  9. We offer free parking at Cardrona but cannot take responsibility for any damages caused to the vehicle during your stay.

Rent

  1. You will need to provide a credit card for each rental agreement.
  2. Insurance can be purchased for specific rental products.
  3. All equipment must be returned at the end of your rental agreement.
  4. If equipment is unreturned or damaged, Cardona will make contact to discuss any issues & may charge your credit card for any damaged or unreturned items.

Snow Sports School Terms & Conditions

  • A credit card number is required at the time of booking to secure your lesson.
  • A phone number that you will be contactable on during your holiday is required at time of booking.
  • Bookings are not confirmed until paid in full.
  • Bookings can be rescheduled or refunded with no charge with more than 24hrs notice.
  • There will be a 50% charge for bookings that are cancelled between 2 & 24hrs notice.
  • There will be no refunds if the booking is cancelled less than 2hrs before the scheduled start time, or in a “no show” situation.

Ski Kindy Terms & Conditions

A credit card number is required at the time of booking to secure your lesson.

A phone number that you will be contactable on during your holiday is required at time of booking.

Bookings are not confirmed until paid in full.

Bookings can be rescheduled or refunded with no charge with more than 7 days notice.

Bookings cancelled within 7 days of start date will be charged a $25 per day cancellation fee & the balance refunded.

There will be no refund if the booking is cancelled on the day.

For Ski Kindy Afternoon Group Lessons, minimum numbers apply. If there is only one child, the lesson will only run for one hour.

HPC Parks Squad Terms & Conditions

School Holiday

The following information is provided to ensure that the Terms & Conditions that the High Performance Centre programme offer are clear & understood. In these Terms we have used “we” or “us”, referring to Cardrona’ s High Performance Centre (HPC) & “you”, referring to the person or family member who is registered in the Cardrona HPC School Holiday programme.

Fees

  1. Full payment of training fees is due before the first training session, on or before 20th June 2017. Your place in training is not confirmed & coaching will not commence until this registration form is complete & fees are received. All international athletes must pay in full prior to commencing training.
  2. We offer a 3-payment plan only if you are registered for any full-term/season programme & have a New Zealand credit card or bank account. This is the total programme cost divided by 3. The 3 payments will take place either on or before the 20th June 2017, 20th July 2017 & the 20th August 2017. However please note that 2.5% interest will be charged on all overdue accounts.
  3. All prices that we quote are in New Zealand dollars, but may change without notice. Programme costs include GST.

Refund Policy

  1. If cancellation occurs within the first week of training, a refund of 80% of the training fees will apply.
  2. When the mountain is open & on-snow training is scheduled with coaches working, this is classified as a training day. If you choose not to come & train due to sickness, tiredness, injury or other commitments, there is no provision for a replacement day, or any form of refund.
  3. If the mountain is closed, or the coach calls a closed day due to weather, we will offer a replacement day to be scheduled for later in the season. Dry land training is offered in the event of a closed day before a replacement day is scheduled.
  4. If you have a short-term injury, caused during training or competition, which causes training to be missed, no refund is available. However we will try & offer replacement days within the same season. This is subject to availability as arranged by your coach, & is not guaranteed.
  5. For long-term season ending injuries for New Zealand athletes, we will consult on a case-by-case basis.
  6. All international athletes need to be fully insured. We will not be liable for any expenses due to injury, sickness, theft, travel, or loss of training fees.

Minimum Numbers

  1. If we do not get the required minimum number of athletes for a particular training option we may be forced to cancel, in which case we will contact you with alternative options or provide a refund.
  2. For all other 4, 3 & 2 day programmes we require a minimum of 4 athletes & a maximum of 7 athletes per coach.

Unused training

  1. At the end of the season if you have any unused replacement days from only either closed mountain days or the coach has called no training due to weather conditions, we will refund you for missed training days.

Liability

  1. Snow sports involve a certain element of risk & are therefore undertaken at your own risk. We accept no responsibility for any accidents, damage, loss, injury, sickness, death, cancellation, delay or other unforeseen events that occur during the course of a training programme on or off snow.
  2. We reserve the right to decline, cancel or withdraw any athlete. We expect athletes to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times as set out in the athlete code of conduct in the athlete handbook.

Equipment

  1. All athletes must wear a helmet at all times. This is compulsory across all programmes in the Cardrona Parks Squad. The coach has the right to refuse training to athletes who do not have the appropriate equipment.

Lift Lane Use

  1. Use of the Ski & Snowboard School lift line is a PRIVILEGE for HPC athletes & available ONLY during training sessions. Any misuse of this privilege will result in appropriate consequences, to be determined by HPC coaches & management.

Parks Squad Programmes

Training

Training weeks are based on the number of days specified upon registering & being accepted for any Parks Squad Programme.  All programmes except for the International Competitive Programme run between Thursday to Sunday. Athletes must be flexible with their schedule as training is dependent on weather, terrain availability & competition days.

All competition days, bad weather days used for dry land training or trampolining, & transport days are counted as training days.

Training days are fixed & cannot be rescheduled week to week.

We aim to provide continuity with our training but coaches may vary during the week due to training needs, availability & group numbers.

There is a minimum of 4 athletes to run a training group.

Payments & refunds

Full term season programme fees can be split into 3 payments on request, as agreed by HPC.  These are to be processed by HPC on 20 June 2017, 20 July 2017 & 20 August 2017.

International athletes are to pay total fees before training begins.

At the end of the season if you have any unused replacement days from closed mountain days only, we will refund you for missed training days. Closed days are first used as dry land training days or replacement days are arranged by the coach before refunded.

When the mountain is open & on-snow training is scheduled with coaches working, this is classified as a training day. If you choose not to come & train due to sickness, tiredness, injury or other commitments, there is no provision for a replacement day or any form of refund.

HPC CAST Terms & Conditions

Ski Race

ITC Terms & Conditions

Fees

Course fees are due by 2 June. Your place in training is not confirmed & coaching will not commence until the registration form is complete & fees are received.

Refund policy*

Upon written confirmation informing of cancellation from the course, the following cancellation policy will apply:

  • More than 1 month prior to course commencement: 100% refund (less a $300 administration fee)
  • Less than 1 month prior to course commencement: NZSIA/SBINZ exam fees only refunded
  • After course commencement: Non-refundable

A Travel Insurance Policy which includes Cancellation Cover in excess of the course costs is therefore strongly recommended for all course participants. For New Zealanders, please look at comprehensive domestic travel insurance & ensure it covers snow sports.

Minimum numbers

If we do not get the required minimum number of trainees for a particular training option we may not be able to run that training.  In the event that we are forced to cancel a training programme, we will contact you with alternate options.

Unused training

No refund will be given for any unused training sessions due to trainee’s late arrival, illness or injury. Make up days are not able to be offered. In the case of resort closure due to weather conditions, mechanical failure, or for any other reason outside of the control of ITC we will attempt, but do not guarantee to reschedule the planned training. This training may be on or off snow.

Liability

Snow sports involve a certain element of risk & are undertaken at the individual's own risk. Instructor Training Cardrona (ITC) & its trainers are not responsible for any injury that occurs during the course of a training programme, on or off snow.

Lift Lane Use

Use of the Snow Sports School lift line is a PRIVILEGE for ITC trainees & available ONLY during training sessions.  Any misuse of this privilege will result in appropriate consequences, to be determined by ITC trainers & management.
