Lifties are a tough breed! They're not afraid of working in some of the harshest weather conditions or heavy lifting, they're always on top of their game & do it all with a smile. They keep all our lifts running smoothly & safely so we all get to ride as much as possible. Lifties are one of the first on the mountain each day & one of the last to leave, so one of their big perks is getting to ride with nobody else on the mountain!
Our Hosts are often the first point of contact with our guests – greeting them at the bottom of the road to provide important information about the day ahead, or up on the mountain helping guests find their way to Rentals, Ticket Office or their ski or snowboard lessons. Our Hosts team is always prepared to step in & help any department where they're needed, so they're all-round guest service superstars! The Hosts team also includes Cardrona's mascots, Pengi & Frosty.
At Cardrona we have 8 distinctly different cafés & restaurants, something for every food lover! We also offer a range of Food & Beverage positions each winter season including baristas, front of house, chefs & more. There are opportunities to work all over the mountain in a fast-paced, friendly team environment.
Our Rentals & Workshop teams look after all our guests looking to hire ski or snowboard equipment, or look after the gear they already have. You'll become in expert in gear fitting & DIN setting, you'll look after gear storage, & the workshop team will become masters of wax, edges & repairs. A lot of first time guests will pass through the Rental department so the Rentals team offer some guests their very first practical information about skiing & snowboarding.
At Cardrona we have three Guest Services locations – on the mountain, in Wanaka & in Queenstown. Our Guest Services team are often in touch with guests before they arrive on the mountain; answering questions, making bookings & more. They're guest service champions who are always stoked to answer questions & help our guests out!
Our GoldX Events crew run some of the Southern Hemisphere's biggest snow events, including the Audi quattro Winter Games NZ & the Jossi Wells Invitational! They're another tough bunch, often on the mountain before the sun rises & after it sets. The Events crew work hard & play hard – they're a tight knit crew often called "Events Ninjas" due to their all-black uniform!
We have four Retail locations at Cardrona – on the mountain, in Wanaka, in Queenstown & online! Our amazing Retail team know Cardrona merchandise, soft goods & hardware inside out, & they're always on hand to help with on-snow fashion choices.
Our Ski Patrol team are highly qualified, experienced patrollers who are always there when you need them. They're supported by the Slope Safety team who make sure everyone abides by the Snow Safety Code. Ski Patrol are often up on the mountain early on a powder day to do control work, they're highly qualified in first aid & they keep us all safe when we're skiing & snowboarding!
