Adaptive Snow Sports

Snow sports welcome everyone! Check out Cardrona’s Adaptive Snow Sports programme in action.

What are Adaptive Snow Sports?

Cardrona’s Adaptive programme provides support for people with physical, sensory & cognitive impairments. This programme ensures there is no limit to enjoying the freedom of skiing & boarding with your family & friends. The term "adaptive" comes from how the programme adapts both the sport & the equipment to cater for every individual’s needs. You’ll see modified skis & snowboards, sit-skis, frames, outriggers & more out on the Cardrona slopes with our adaptive guests & instructors.

Volunteers

The Cardrona Adaptive Snow Sports programme couldn’t run without the help of an incredible team of volunteers, thanks to the support of Snow Sports New Zealand (Adaptive). The trained volunteers provide free on-snow support for anyone who requires assistance to access the mountain. If you’re a confident skier/snowboarder, are patient & a great communicator & you’d like to become an adaptive volunteer, please email adaptive@cardrona.com for more information.
