Cardrona What's On: Last Week of September!

We're heading into the final stretch of the season and there's a lot of fun still to be had!

There's still plenty of snow on the mountain, with fun spring conditions to be enjoyed. Check out the weather forecast below... it looks there's still a couple of storms on the way before we finish up - so still a few good turns to be had!

We had Dragon week at Cardrona this week, and it was awesome seeing everyone get amongst our competitions and win big prizes. A big shout out to all the grommies who came out for Tiarn Collins and Mitch Davern's rail jam yesterday - it was a fun afternoon with kids riding with a couple of their local heroes.

Here's an overview reminder of the Level 2 guidelines for both Cardrona and Treble Cone (you can read them all here):

  • You must wear a face covering over your mouth and nose in our indoor spaces (except for when eating/drinking in our F&B outlets), in lift lines, on lifts, and in our transport.
  • Make sure you scan in or sign in wherever you're asked to.
  • Our indoor spaces are limited to 100 people, so please bear with our teams and be patient as they monitor numbers.
  • Use your car as your base lodge if you can!

Weather Forecast

There's a wee storm on the way, kicking in tonight and throughout Saturday, starting to clear on Sunday. If it brings some snow like what Snow-Forecast.com are predicting, it could be a fantastic start to next week!

Keep an eye on the Snow Report for the most up-to-date information on what is open over the next couple of days.

The forecast for the next three days from Snow-Forecast.com looks like this:

Treble Cone

Treble Cone could be getting some goods from Saturday's storm, so watch the Snow Report on Sunday! Remember the TC team are running a bonus weekend from October 1st to 3rd, with Closing Day festivities now on October 3rd. We'll see you up there to see out the TC season in style.

Events

Our next big event is the NZ Alpine Youth Championships, followed by the Cardrona Junior Interfields and the Torpedo7 SSNZ Junior Freestyle Nationals. We're at the pointy end of the season with only a couple of events left, so make sure you pop up during these to see some of NZ's best up and coming skiers and snowboarders doing their thing at Cardrona.

Terrain Parks

The International halfpipe is now under construction, just in time for everyone to get some laps in ahead of the snowboard community Minipipe World Champs event on October 17th.

The parks are in great shape all around - with pretty much everything open, warm temps and slushy days, it's a great time to be a park rider at Cardies.

Sustainability Update

We're holding an event at our Wānaka space to upcycle your old or broken ski gear! Check out the poster for all the details:
