Cardrona What's On: The Big Show
We're in full swing of the Jossi Wells Invitational, and the big show is on tomorrow!
Welcome to the What's On! After a wintery start to the week, the maunga's slopes have been feeling the heat, with almost 100 of the world's best snow sport athletes putting on a show in this year's Monster Energy Jossi Wells Invitational.
Wednesday saw the rail jam kick off the event at Lower Stag Lane in some pristine conditions, and yesterday Treble Cone hosted the TC Shoot-Out. Don't miss the biggest event - the Big Air is on tomorrow at Cardrona. If you can't make it up here to watch it, there'll also be a live stream brought to you by The ACC. It'll go live on Facebook and YouTube.
We're also suuuper stoked to say that Cardrona won Burton and GoPro's Battle of the Bubble! Huge ups to the Aussie crew at Thredbo Parks who put together a great setup and edit. If you missed it, this was our entry, featuring our talented Park Crew:
This week our Instagram stories have been full of Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori, with Laura Wotton teaching us all about Māori language. Tune in for a final couple of days, and get practising your Te Reo Māori!
If you missed it last week, we launched the Hero Pass with our mates at Bike Glendhu. We're having a great winter, but this news makes summer all the sweeter. Riding two mountains all summer, with one pass. Learn more about it here.
And don't forget: our ongoing message is to take advantage of our user-friendly ticketing kiosks. If you've purchased tickets and passes online, you can head directly to pick them up from these machines, rather than queue to speak to our ticketing team.
Weather Forecast
The start of the week let a storm through, giving us some great snow for this week's events. This weekend is looking sunny, with a slight breeze and temps between 2 and -2 degrees.

Treble Cone
Some snow also breezed through TC at the start of the week. There's clear days on the cards for the weekend and similar temps of 2 to -2 degrees.
The Jossi Wells Invitational TC Shoot-Out went off yesterday, seeing the athletes hit TC's natural features and take advantage of the open Saddle Basin. This post perfectly summarises the great riding and skiing to be had...
Events
This week's main event is, if you haven't already guessed, the ongoing JWI. Don't forget to check out Big Air tomorrow, either up the mountain in person or through the live stream!
Next Saturday 24 September, we'll be hosting "Girl Get After It", organised by the Ladylike Movement and Winter Games NZ. It's an empowering day for female freestyle skiers and snowboarders, from 9am - 3pm. Tickets are $30 with all proceeds going straight to Breast Cancer Foundation NZ. Terrain Parks
The North Face Cardrona Parks Crew have been kept on their toes, between last week's Winter Games NZ and this week's JWI. You'll find a couple of rebuilds and changes with some rails in Big Bucks, and a rebuilt Big Air - from 65 ft to a whopping 75 ft!
A quick reminder that there's a private halfpipe camp happening at the start of October, which means it'll be closed to the public at the end of September.
Food & Beverage
This is your weekly reminder that our food and beverage outlets could look quite different this year, but the food will still be delicious, we promise! From one day to the next, there may be different offerings in each outlet (depending on staffing levels, isolation requirements etc.), so your patience and understanding is really appreciated by us and our team.
