FAQs

Are full day group lesson packages offered at both resorts?

Full day lesson packages are available at Cardrona only. If you’d like a lesson at Treble Cone, explore our private lesson options. You can find more information here.

Can I still use my multi-day pass at both mountains?

Yes, If you purchase an Earlybird, Flexi multi-day pass, or Dual multi-day pass you can use them at both mountains.

Can I reschedule if I can't come on a specific day?

Yes, you will be able to, up to 7 days in advance, subject to the capacity available on the day you want to reschedule to. You’ll need to contact our team to do so, and may need to pay a price difference if the new day you’re choosing is at a higher rate.

What happens with my pass, lessons and/or rentals if the mountain closes?

Day pass
If you have purchased a day pass we can reschedule for you to ski or ride on a different day at no extra charge. If you are unable to make any other date, we will provide you with a refund. To reschedule or request a refund, contact our team or visit our Queenstown Town Office, or Après in Wānaka and speak to one of our helpful team members.

Multi-day pass
If you have a multi-day pass, it includes flexibility for bad weather days. The more days you purchase on your multi-day pass, the more flexibility you will have:
2 day pass: Ski or ride any 2 days within a 3-day window (starting on the first day of your lift ticket)
3 day pass: Ski or ride any 3 days within a 5-day window (starting on the first day of your lift ticket)
4 day pass: Ski or ride any 4 days within a 6-day window (starting on the first day of your lift ticket)
5 day pass: Ski or ride any 5 days within an 8-day window (starting on the first day of your lift ticket)
6 day pass: Ski or ride any 6 days within a 9-day window (starting on the first day of your lift ticket)
7 day pass: Ski or ride any 7 days within an 11-day window (starting on the first day of your lift ticket)

If you cannot use any days on your multi-day pass due to the closed mountains, contact our team to reschedule your days to one outside your pass window or get a refund. If only one mountain is closed, then depending on capacity levels, our team may be able to swap mountain-specific passes to the other ski area.

Lift pass, rentals and lesson packages
If the mountain is closed on the date(s) you selected to use your lift pass, rental equipment, or lesson, please contact our team or drop into our Queenstown Town Office or Après in Wānaka, and we’ll reschedule your package to be used at another date. If no other dates work for you, we will provide you with a refund.

How will I know if lift passes are sold out?

Pass availability is updated on the snow report page. You can also check pass availability for future dates here.

Where can I pick up my rental gear?

We would always recommend collecting your gear and passes in-advance from one of our off-mountain locations to save you time when you arrive on the mountain (head straight to the snow, or a coffee!) We have a town office in Queenstown, as well as a mountain hub in Wānaka called Après, where you can collect rentals. Alternatively, you can collect rentals on-mountain from the rentals department.

My plans have changed, can I amend the arrival date for my lesson?

If capacity allows, we can move your lesson to a new date, given 48hrs notice. If you would like to amend your lift pass date, please provide 7 days’ notice. Contact our Call Centre team on 0800 440 800 or email info@cardrona-treblecone.com to enquire.

During our peak period, June 29 - July 21, we are likely to have limited availability. If you need to amend your date, we suggest reaching out as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

On the mountain already and want to enquire about amending the date on a future booking? Come into the Ticket Office and see us!

Do you have a single lesson option?

Our lesson packages include a full day of lessons. They are designed with maximising enjoyment and learning in mind, with technical progression in the morning and guided practice time in the afternoon. Our instructors pace the lesson so your legs can last all day. If you're arriving in the afternoon, check in with the Guest Services team on the mountain for suitable on-the-day options.

I'm running late for my lesson, how can I let somebody know?

Shoot the Snow Sports Reservations team an email lessons@cardrona-treblecone.com with your booking name, date and time of lesson in the subject line.

If I'm unavailable for a full day group lesson, do you have an alternative lesson option?

If you would like a shorter lesson or would prefer a different start time, take a look at our private lessons. Available for 1.5hrs, 2hrs, 3 hrs & 6 hrs, they give you a one-on-one learning environment, specifically focused on your goals and learning preferences.

Your time is maximised using our private lesson’s priority lane, plus you can add additional guests to your private lesson if they are of a similar ability to you. Private lessons must be booked in advance - popular times and dates sell out regularly.

I don’t know when or where I want to visit; what pass would you recommend?

Want ultimate flexibility? Check out our Flexi 5-Day Pass - only available for a limited time. You can ski and ride where you want and when you want. Please be aware they are unavailable to be purchased on-mountain, we advise purchasing online.

Can families do a group lesson together?

Our lessons are organised by age and ability, with separate adult and child lessons. This creates the best learning environment for you, and we can pace the learning to your ability.

All our adult and group lessons start and finish at the same time, making it easy to meet up for lunch and meet up at the end of the lesson (with time for one more lap). Everyone can learn at their own pace but also have a shared experience; it’s a win-win!

What do you class as a child and an adult?

Adult lessons: 18 yrs +
Child lessons: 5yrs – 17 yrs ski, 7 yrs – 17 yrs snowboard
14yrs + can choose which group would suit them best.  

If I rent my equipment at Cardrona, can I take it to Treble Cone and vice versa?

Yes, you can rent from any Cardrona X Treble Cone location and use the equipment at either mountain.  

Does it matter where I drop off my rentals?

If you rented from our Queenstown town office, please return it to the same place. If you rent from any of our other locations, you can return them to either Cardrona, Treble Cone or Wanaka Après.

What do I do with my rentals if the mountain closes on my last day?

Return your rentals to either of the town offices, Wanaka Après or Queenstown.

Is there anywhere to store my equipment overnight?

If you’ve rented from Cardrona and you’re skiing the next day, use the ski concierge. Next-day collection must be by 10 am. If you’re running late, ring the ski concierge; the number will be on the tag you received. Only available for skis/snowboards.

For personal skis, we have overnight lockers available for hire. Available for 2 / 4 persons and include boot dryers.

Can I take my rentals home with me?

If you are skiing at Treble Cone or Cardrona, you can take them with you.

Do I need to do anything before I arrive at rentals?

When booking online, you should receive a pre-arrival email asking you to upload information, i.e., your shoe size, height, and weight. Filling this out ahead of time will make the on-mountain process faster.

After renting skis or a snowboard, can I switch to the other discipline?

If you find skiing or snowboarding isn't for you, you can swap your skis or snowboard out for the other once during the day.

This is my first time on the mountain, can I rent everything?

Available to rent are jackets, pants, helmets, goggles and wrist guards (for snowboarding). Gloves can only be purchased at rentals or retail, and we recommend arriving with warm layers to wear underneath.
